Hi everyone,
I have a Honda City 2006 Steermatic, recently had the engine changed with another 1.5 ltr I-VTEC.
Everything was fine after the engine change but recently it's been giving me really bad fuel average, about 6 - 6.5.
I got it checked by two mechanics and they both have very different diagnosis and I'm not sure who to go with.
The first mechanic did a scan to see for any issues and these are the problems it showed:
The following systems is abnormal:
PGM-FI/Diesel(Engine System) 4 problems exist
1.15-06(P1352) Ignition Output Signal Failure Current|PGM-FI
2.10-02(P0113) IAT Sensor Circuit High Voltage Current|PGM-FI
3.12-03(P1491) EGR Valve Lift Insufficient Detected Current|PGM-FI
4.12-03(P1491) EGR Valve Lift Insufficient Detected Temporary|PGM-FI
EPS(Electric Power Steering) 3 problems exist
1.22-01 Engine Speed Signal (Initial Diagnosis) Current|EPS
2.34-01 Power Relay Stuck On (IG Switch Is Off) Current|EPS
3.21-02 Comparison Between The Vehicle Speed And The Engine
Speed Signal (Regular Diagnosis)
Current|EPS
The following system are OK:
1.AT(Automatic Transmission)
He told me they are mostly electric faults and the wiring will have to be done properly.
The second mechanic did not do a scan, just drove the car and said it's a transmission issue since the car seems sluggish to drive. He told me to get it checked by a transmission expert.
I'm a bit confused and don't know what is the next step I should take. Should I have it checked by another mechanic?
Any advice would be really helpful. I just avoid driving it now because the fuel consumption is just too much.
I'm located in Karachi if that helps.
Thank you!
