Based on what we now, it can be said that Sorento is moving slow and people preferring Fortuner in this price bracket, may be because of better brand and social recognition.
It's not a bad car, but 7 million price bracket is bit high here in Pak.
I also liked your logical explanation on why old generation cars are launched in Pakistan, appreciate your answer because I also had same in my mind, so it's really not about cheaper discounted car but more:
cost of investment and return on investment, who would pay 15 million for 4th gen Sorento?
technology management, service and support, as seen from other car manufacturer experience, new tech fail in Pak
new generations go through their natural evolution of improvements, it is expensive to release "fixes" and "patches" when faults come out, now we know 3rd gen is "well tested" and known faults fixed.. old gen might be more reliable
I think this logic applies to all cars in pakistan- not just sorento..
