How many performance cars have you seen or driven that have Cvts? Please name 1. Performance cars are either manuals, dcts or torque converters (zf etc).
As Mr. @Xulfiqar said that ecu might’ve cut down the power due to overheating, which means cvts are prone to overheating under certain conditions and are not as reliable in comparison to others.
Cvts are designed for fuel efficiency and are cheap to manufacture so nothing premium about it.
If you want to bring civic/grande vs elantra/sonata lol please keep in mind that these are cars that are not designed to race or for drag strips so if one beats the other its not because of the gearbox.
