I personally would usually recommend keeping an older car since you know it's history and maintenance as you are the sole owner.
However, I have a family member with a 2008 Prius and it's being a financial headache.
However, please be weary of switching from 1. A japanese manufactured vehicle to local, 2. A used vehicle driven locally.
If you can find a mint condition gem, you are golden. However, used car shopping, especially here in Pak, can be a nightmare and leave you with headaches as you have no idea of it's history, accident history, how it was maintained (dealer maintained or designed ustaad maintained), what kinda parts were used etc.
